Position Profile for Teacher Aide Mentor:

General Description of Role: Position Profile is not all inclusive and position may include other expected duties. This profile is intended to only highlight needs and duties unique to this position.

There will be four (4) Teacher Aide Mentors, one assigned to each geographic area.  This assignment involves the direct mentoring teacher aides.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel to multiple location

Academic Requirements: Able to instruct teacher aides in how to assist students with academic subject

Behavioral Management Skills: Able to instruct aides in various behavior management techniques

Personal Care Requirements:    Ability to instruct teacher aides in how to assist student with independent daily living skills

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to work with adults and students
  • Good communication skills and time management
  • Ability to provide professional development to teacher aides

Excluded Areas:

  • DO NOT write in parent communication logs/notebooks
  • DO NOT disclose information about a student to parents, community or other staff members (i.e. staff room) except at the supervisor’s specific request.  This includes information on medication, disability areas, testing results, and behavioral issues.
